Stevia is in the sunflower family (Asteraceae) and is related to lettuce and marigolds. Also known as sweet

leaf and sugar leaf.

Stevioside is a natural sugar which is extracted from our organic stevia leaves , it possess unique properties, like highly
sweetness, lower calories.

The active compounds of stevia are steviol glycosides (mainly stevioside and rebaudioside A). Both stevioside and rebaudioside A are 250~480 times sweeter than sucrose, and have the potential to serve as non-caloric sweeteners.

The results showed that stevia sugar is a non-cariogenic sweetener. Stevia as a natural sweetener of high sweetness low calorific value is widely used in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, tobacco, cosmetics, liqueurs, toothpaste, spices, salt and manufactured products.

Application

1. Stevioside and steviodiglycoside A are used in ice cream and soft drinks;

6. Stevia is used to make hard candies along with lactose, maltose syrup, fructose, sorbitol, maltitol and lactoketose;

7. Stevioside can be used to make chewing gum and bubble gum, as well as candies with a variety of flavors;

8. Stevia can also be mixed with sorbitol, glycine and alanine to produce cake powder;

9. Stevioside can also be used in solid drinks, health drinks, sweet wines and coffee.
